Every year the Calgary Italian Sportsmen's Dinner Association honours three high school students of Italian heritage, who excel in both athletics and academics, with scholarships. Each scholarship is worth $5,000.00 and runners up being worth $1,000.00 and $500.00. This started in 1963 and has continued right through to today. Over the years, we have awarded over 100 scholarships to promising youth through Calgary, to promote the essence true sportsmanship.
Application criteria:
- The applicant must be of Italian heritage, in grade 12 and will be registering at a post-secondary institution with a year.
- Has demonstrated excellence in sports (his school and community).
- Has maintained a high academic standing.
- Is an exemplary citizen.
- Has financial need.
- Must attend the annual banquet on May 30, 2024 at St. Francis His School, 877 Northmount Drive NW.
- Applicant must write a short essay on his experience with his Italian heritage.
